Built in 1789 for George Uppleby Esquire, a local Gentleman of Privy Chamber to George the Third, historic Barrow Hall is a Grade 1 Listed building situated in the rural village of Barrow on Humber close to the beautiful Humber Estuary.
Following a five year major new-build and refurbishment scheme, Barrow Hall now offers a wide range of well designed and high quality accommodation to meet the unique and diverse needs of our residents. The main house at Barrow Hall offers specialised nursing care for 25 adults with a range of mental health problems and varying degrees of challenging behaviour. The newly completed Mews apartments provide a further 10 single, close care apartments with bedroom, living room, shower room and kitchenette for those with a good degree of independence.
To complete our portfolio of client centred care facilities, we have The Lodge, a recently refurbished two bedroom detached home with kitchen, shower room and two separate living rooms which provides for independent and fully mobile clients.
At Barrow Hall we pride ourselves on our extensive and well tended grounds which are open for residents to wander freely and enjoy the beautiful views of East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Our safe, secure but relaxed environment provides a homely feel where we encourage residents to lead as independent lives as possible.
As well as community activities, residents are encouraged to partake in a wide range of hobbies and pastimes including indoor and outdoor games, walks, musical activities and sing-alongs as well as regular outings to local centres of interest, entertainment and activity.
