Belmont in Stranraer is a purpose built residential care home which specialises in caring for older people with dementia. With far-reaching views of the town and the port, the home is found in the south west of the town at the head of Loch Ryan. With 27 single bedrooms, 15 with en-suite facilities and one double bedded room especially for couples, the home is cosy and well-furnished. Our aim is to create a home from home for our residents and everyone coming to live with us at Belmont is encouraged to bring in favourite pieces of furniture, photographs and personal possessions for their own rooms.
We run regular activities at Belmont and particularly popular are our fundraising events which include strawberry teas, coffee morning and Burns suppers.
Our most recent addition is our new Remembrance garden planted especially for us by the Prince’s Trust.
As well as creating a beautiful backdrop for our home, our gardens are very important to our philosophy of care. In addition to lawns and flower beds, we like to maintain vegetable plots wherever possible and residents are encouraged to tend them.
