Once the Northern Hospital in Dunfermline, for the last 20 years Leys Park has been dedicated to the care of older people.
Set in large grounds, Leys Park has an enclosed garden with an area specifically designed for the home by the Prince’s Trust.
The 64 bedded home has a unit specialising in dementia care and a separate unit focusing on the care of frail older people. A refurbishment and re-decoration programme has provided a cosy and comfortable home and the latest facilities and equipment ensure the health and safety of residents with limited mobility.
The home’s two activity co-ordinators run a varied programme of hobbies and events including quizzes, regular bingo sessions and arts and crafts. For residents who like to get out and about, there are trips out to local attractions and to the nearby Fife coast. Particularly popular are our afternoon teas and coffee mornings.
Once a month we hold a residents’ meeting to listen to peoples’ views and to let everyone know what we have got planned for the following few weeks.
